We offer the choice of single measles, mumps and rubella for those parents hesitant about the combined MMR.
Important update: Parents considering the single vaccines will have to
take into account that at the present time there is a global shortage of
mumps vaccines. The manufacturer, Merck, has decided to cease production
of Mumpsvax (mumps vaccine) without any warning as of 21/10/09.
Measles is the most important vaccine and we can continue to offer that first. Rubella is then given at an interval fo 6-8 weeks. This does still mean that there would be a longer interval before the mumps became available, unless the situation changes. |
